SAIC is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Developer to join our energized team as we embark on a large AI initiative for the Department of Defense.

The Senior Cloud Software Developer is responsible for the planning, design, management, maintenance, and support of cloud computing software applications. The ideal candidate will enhance the delivery of cloud deployments and collaborate with development teams and other personnel to streamline application services. The Senior Cloud Software Developer will determine the technological needs of stakeholders and recommend software solutions and cloud services to meet them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design, development, debugging, and maintenance of software components using a combination of technologies.
  • Determines the cloud infrastructure requirements and specifications in collaboration with other design teams.
  • Works with various technology teams to understand the current applications and makes migration recommendations.
  • Writes program code, compiles, debugs, tests, deploys, documents, and implements software for new and existing systems.
  • Develops repeatable processes and/or scripts to allow the timely and efficient deployment of Cloud-based services.
  • Supports the migration of existing databases to the Cloud-based platform.
  • Integrates COTS and GOTS products.
  • Deploys Cloud-based applications and maintains quality and consistency through peer and code reviews.
  • Debugs errors, troubleshoots issues, and performs routine performance optimizations.
  • Writes user stories and test plans.
  • Maintains regular contact with stakeholders and identifies future needs.
  • Addresses security findings and vulnerabilities by developing, testing and deploying configuration changes.
  • Provide integration support to developers.
  • Performs activities for patch releases including configuration changes, required documentation and approvals.
  • Researches and analyzes cloud technology trends for potential impact to the enterprise software strategy and recommends appropriate changes and areas of future enhancement.
  • Creates and updates documentation related to the maintenance and support of the Cloud-based services.
  • Addresses cybersecurity issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • A bachelor's degree in computer sciences, information systems, software development, computer engineering, or a related subject with 9 years experience, or equivalent work in a related field in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated leadership, planning, and organizing, skills.
  • Expertise in Cloud computing, Infrastructure, and platform services.
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, networking concepts, visualization, cloud computing, container technology, and databases.
  • Experience in leveraging scripting to build required automation and tools.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to enhance cooperation with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure objectives are met.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and delivering solutions creatively.
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate, interpret, draw inferences, and make recommendations on data.
  • Proven ability to accommodate shifting priorities, technologies, techniques, and timelines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to plainly and concisely articulate technical concepts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in in computer sciences, information systems, software development, computer engineering, or a related subject
  • Experience with cloud computing infrastructure and platform solutions on at least one of the large Cloud Service Providers (CSP); Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and across multiple security enclaves or networks.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense operations, requirements, and organizations.
  • Experience supporting DoD software development projects.
Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
