Multi-Automatic Tool & Supply Co, located in Walker, Michigan, is a leading specialty line distributor of MRO supplies covering a wide range of replacement parts, fixturing products, and cutting tools primarily for the multi-spindle machining industry. We service a wide range of automotive, industrial, and heavy equipment manufacturers. SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Product & Operations Manager for its client in Walker, MI. The person will be responsible for managing daily operations, supporting product needs, and driving process improvements within a small, specialized team. The position involves significant customer and vendor interaction, overseeing inventory and pricing strategies, and ensuring product quality and timely delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding parts, tooling, and replacement components.
  • Interpret machine layout prints to identify and source required parts.
  • Oversee light-duty assembly of machine components and conduct quality checks against specifications.
  • Manage procurement of custom components, negotiating cost and delivery with vendors.
  • Handle product shipping, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
  • Maintain and revise technical documentation and part prints to ensure accuracy.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships through accurate quoting and order management.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing insights to support sales strategy and planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3 years’ experience with inventory management within a manufacturing or distribution environment, with proven ability to maintain accurate stock levels and oversee timely order fulfillment.
  • 3 years’ experience with metals, machining processes, and tolerances, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Knowledge of the screw machine industry, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support; strong understanding of tooling, components (cams, feed fingers, clutches, gears), and processes used in high-volume precision machining environments is highly preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and apply strong mechanical and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Prior exposure to client industries such as automotive, industrial, medical, or heavy equipment manufacturing, with an understanding of their quality requirements is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; spreadsheet development preferred.
  • Sales knowledge or experience with sales processes is a plus.
