Who We Are:
Aecon Utilities is a North American leader in utility infrastructure construction, with a growing presence across Texas. We build critical infrastructure that powers communities, connects people, and moves energy. Our teams deliver utility, telecom, and energy projects.

Aecon Utilities is seeking licensed Electricians to support our growing portfolio of substation and electrical infrastructure projects in Texas. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in substation construction on new and existing sites.
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, generators, voltage regulators, lighting, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and code specifications.
  • Install power distribution equipment, conduit (above and below ground), ground grids, control panels, and support steel.
  • Inspect and test equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and repair electrical faults and faulty components.
  • Ensure all work meets applicable codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation including maintenance reports and material tracking.
  • Collaborate with engineering and site leadership to resolve design or installation challenges.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather, at heights, and in remote jobsite conditions.
  • Operate and work around heavy equipment and cranes as required.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.

What You Bring:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license (Texas or recognized U.S. equivalent).
  • Experience in electrical construction, maintenance, and substation installations.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand, kneel, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; ability to work with color-coded wiring.
  • Willingness to travel to remote job locations as needed.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
